Poppyscotland Learning Competition
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Archie Malloch and Ruaridh Blackadder of Oban High School on their success in winning the 2020 Poppyscotland Learning Competition; notes that their winning proposal, which is to hold a specially-designed football strip and charity football match involving the participation of retired players, is inspired by the "Christmas Truce" football match that was played between British and German troops in the trenches on Christmas Day during the First World War, and is confident that Archie and Ruaridh's inspiring idea will add to the awareness of the significance of Remembrance Day and the sacrifices of all who secured everyone's freedoms during past conflicts.
