Peter Stevenson OBE
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Scottish Borders resident, Peter Stevenson, on being appointed an OBE in The Queen’s Birthday Honours list for his work as Chief Policy Adviser to Compassion in World Farming and his services to farm animal welfare; commends Peter's leading role in achieving the EU bans on veal crates, battery cages and sow stalls as well as a new status for animals in EU law as sentient beings, and recognises his ongoing commitment to the economics of livestock production and the safeguarding of the resources on which the country's future ability to feed itself depends.
