Donna Cuthbertson Wins Top Regional Instructor (Scotland) Award

That the Parliament congratulates Donna Cuthbertson, from Orkney, on winning the Top Regional Instructor (Scotland) Award at the 2020 Community Fitness Awards; understands that the awards recognise the exceptional work of people in the fitness industry to support the health and wellbeing of their communities; acknowledges that Donna, who is an instructor at Orkney Dance and Fitness, continued to provide online fitness classes that people could take part in from home during lockdown; thanks her for truly going the extra mile to create opportunities for people to exercise in a fun and social environment that was easily accessible to them; believes that, thanks to her work, many people in Orkney remained motivated to exercise during this difficult time, which has been beneficial for improving both their physical and mental health; recognises that Donna has also used her online dance and exercise classes to help raise over £1,200 for Orkney Blide Trust as part of Mental Health Awareness Week in May 2020; commends her for her tremendous efforts to support the work of the Trust to promote mental wellbeing in Orkney and help those experiencing poor mental health, particularly since the pandemic has made fundraising extremely difficult; congratulates Donna on winning this outstanding award in recognition of her tireless commitment to helping others in her community through dance and exercise, and wishes her, and everyone who is part of the Orkney Dance and Fitness community, the very best for another successful year ahead.
