Shetland Retains Milne Cup
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Shetland football team on retaining the Milne Cup, following a hard fought clash with their Orkney rivals on 17 October 2020; understands that this was the 102nd meeting for the prestigious and historic annual title; notes that the match did offer some controversy in the form of a disallowed goal, but that Shetland’s victory came from a goal from James Aitken in the 70th minute; congratulates all the players involved, and thanks all the fans who respectfully and safely supported their teams from their homes via the live stream provided by BBC Radio Orkney, in compliance with COVID-19 restrictions.
