54th Anniversary of the Aberfan Disaster
The motion
That the Parliament recognises that 21 October 2020 is the 54th anniversary of the Aberfan disaster; acknowledges that the tragedy led to 116 children and 28 adults losing their lives; recognises the impact on the community of Aberfan and across Wales; pays its respects to those whose lives were lost; continues to stand with the people of Aberfan in their grief, and commends the strength and bravery of all who worked selflessly to save as many lives as possible in the immediate aftermath.
