Fraser Cameron from Giffnock, BHF Young Heart Hero Award Winner
The motion
That the Parliament offers its warmest congratulations to nine-year-old Fraser Cameron, who is from Giffnock, on receiving the Young Heart Hero Award at the British Heart Foundation's (BHF) annual Heart Hero awards ceremony; recognises that Fraser, when he was just eight, raised £3,311 for BHF Scotland and £3,148.75 for Scotland's Air Ambulance charity by walking the 100-mile route from Spean Bridge to Crieff; acknowledges that he undertook this journey with his father, Ewen, in the memory of his grandmother, who sadly lost her life due to heart and circulatory disease; notes that Fraser was awarded the Young Heart Hero commendation at the virtual awards ceremony, which took place on 20 October 2020; understands that the purpose of the these awards is to recognise the achievements of people who have displayed incredible fortitude when faced with an extremely challenging situation or when they have made a notable impact in helping others who are living with heart and circulatory diseases, and applauds Fraser on his outstanding fundraising endeavours and being recognised as a Young Heart Hero.
