RSABI's Keep Talking Campaign Wins British Guild of Agricultural Journalists’ PR Award
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Royal Scottish Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RSABI) on winning the British Guild of Agricultural Journalists’ PR Award 2020; understands that RSABI won the award in recognition of its #KeepTalking campaign, which raised awareness of the risks of social isolation among those working in the agricultural sector and the importance of good mental health; recognises that the four-week campaign featured the farmer and TV comedian, Jim Smith, and encouraged farmers, crofters and others involved in agriculture to make time on a regular basis to stay connected and look out for each other; acknowledges that the judges commended the campaign’s "clear strategic thinking" and clever engagement of relatable industry figures with the aims of the campaign; believes that the #KeepTalking message remains vitally important for those in the agricultural sector and beyond in the months ahead, and hopes that the campaign’s success will continue to help people to recognise the importance of looking after their mental health and ask for support if needed, and congratulates all of the staff at RSABI who have worked tirelessly on promoting and developing the #KeepTalking campaign to make sure that it reaches as wide an audience as possible, and makes a real difference in rural communities across the country.
