Orkney Library and Archive Nominated for Romantic Novelists' Association Industry Award

That the Parliament congratulates Orkney Library and Archive on being shortlisted as a finalist in the Romantic Novelists’ Association (RNA) Industry Awards 2020; understands that the awards were launched in 2015 to celebrate the work of libraries and librarians in promoting the genre of romantic fiction; recognises that Orkney Library and Archive, which it understands is the oldest public lending library in Scotland, has been nominated by members of the RNA as a finalist in the Library of the Year category, with the winners being announced at a virtual ceremony on 12 November; acknowledges that the RNA paid tribute in its nomination to the friendly and knowledgeable staff at Orkney Library and Archive, while also recognising the library’s popular, entertaining and award-winning Twitter feed; congratulates all of the staff at Orkney Library and Archive on this latest recognition, and wishes them, and all other nominees for the industry awards, the very best of luck for the announcement of the winners.
