The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Storehouse Restaurant with Rooms, based in Kirkwall, on being recognised at the Inverness Architectural Association Highlands and Islands Design Awards; understands that the awards celebrate and recognise the best architecture across the Highlands and Islands; acknowledges that the Storehouse Restaurant won highly commended in the "new life for old buildings" category in recognition of its successful restoration from a building that was initially on the at-risk register into a restaurant with rooms in 2019; notes that the building has still retained its historic character and charm while becoming home to a popular local business within Kirkwall; congratulates Leslie Burgher, who was the project architect, as well as Judith Glue and David Spence, who are the owners of the restaurant, on this well-deserved accolade for their hard work and effort to save the building and turn their vision for it into a reality, and wishes the Storehouse Restaurant and all of its staff every success as it continues to serve the local community.
