UCU’s Mary Senior Becomes Scottish TUC President
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the University and College Union’s (UCU) Mary Senior on her election as President of the Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC), the first from that union to hold the most senior elected position at the STUC; notes Mary’s longstanding commitment to the trade union movement and her two decades of work in Scotland; understands that Mary’s first trade union job was as a researcher with the GMB union, and that she has also worked for Unison and the STUC as Assistant Secretary, and wishes Mary well in her year as President.
