Alarming Rates of Child Poverty In West Lothian

Lodged by Neil Findlay Standard Motion 4 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament notes with alarm what it sees as shocking new data published by the End Child Poverty coalition regarding child poverty in West Lothian; understands that there are now 8,380 children in the area living in poverty, which represents 23.7% of all children in the county, and believes that the Scottish Government must recognise the impact that this has on children’s lives and act urgently to put an end to what it considers a scandal in 21st-century Scotland.
