West Lothian College Introduces Free Breakfast for Students

That the Parliament commends West Lothian College for introducing a free hot breakfast for students from 11 January 2021; understands that this is in response to increasing financial challenges faced by students, many of whom have lost part-time jobs due to the pandemic, others who have partners who have been made redundant and others who are struggling to pay their rent and heating bills; notes that the college has been providing free soup and a roll for all students for over the last two years, and acknowledges that the new breakfast offer will provide more much-needed sustenance so that students do not have to learn on an empty stomach.
