Includem Glasgow Family Poverty Report

That the Parliament acknowledges the publication of the Includem report, The Impact of Poverty on Families in Glasgow; notes from the report that, since the beginning of the  COVID-19 pandemic, 46% of the families in the City of Glasgow have said that their financial situation has worsened, while a third said that their debt had increased; further notes that the report says that 61% of the young people and families that are reliant on social security in Glasgow said they were in a worse financial position than they were pre-pandemic, and that half said their debt was greater; is concerned to note that the report also confirms that 38% of Glasgow families struggle to put food on the table regularly, particularly families that rely on social security, half of which report struggling to pay for food "about half the time", or "usually"; is deeply concerned with the long-term health effect on families, with the report confirming that three-quarters of all families, and 84% of families in receipt of social security, in Glasgow, reported a deterioration in their mental health over the last year, and urges the Scottish Government to use its full powers to support families in Glasgow and across Scotland.
