Motion · S5M-24112 · 10 Feb 2021
Tesco
The motion
That the Parliament notes with great concern reports that Tesco will pay a record dividend of 51p per share in 2021; understands that the company is doing so while it is pursuing a so-called fire and rehire policy at five of its distribution centre, including Livingston; believes that the supermarket chain has made huge profits during the COVID-19 pandemic; considers that this is thanks to the hard work and commitment of staff members who have helped keep the country fed, and believes that any move to cut pay and conditions would see Tesco treating these keyworkers with contempt.
