Lodged by Alex Cole-Hamilton (Scottish Liberal Democrats) Standard Motion 8 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the NatWest Bank on its campaign. ‘Supporting Female Entrepreneurship; commends its provision of £1 billion to support female entrepreneurs in the UK to recover from the impact on their work of the COVID-19 pandemic; notes that this is in addition to a previous £1 billion provided in January 2020, which, it understands, was the largest intervention by a UK lender to be specifically focused on female-led business; applauds the work of NatWest in committing to create 35,000 new business in the UK by the end of 2021; welcomes the campaign's focus on support for those from underrepresented groups and from areas of geographical inequality, and applauds the NatWest group chief executive and her team in their work to address what it sees as structural inequality issues exacerbated by disproportionate impact of the COVID-19 crisis on women.
