Renfrewshire Leisure Workers Deserve Support
The motion
That the Parliament believes that the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme is an important tool for employers to protect jobs and support workers; considers that, often, the most underpaid workers rely on multiple jobs or casual contracts; understands that Renfrewshire Leisure has refused to make full use of the furlough scheme to support all of its workers, particularly those on casual or multiple contracts; believes that the same workers were initially told that they were to be made redundant with two days’ notice before this threat was withdrawn, and calls on Renfrewshire Leisure and all organisations to make full use of the furlough scheme to support workers, including those on casual or multiple contracts, and to provide them with job security and certainty.
