The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Support in Mind Scotland Stewartry Resource Centre and Branch on their work during the COVID-19 pandemic to promote positive health and wellbeing and mental health awareness; notes that, although the team are not currently holding face-to-face group sessions, they are still offering their outreach service, which provides one-to-one support with doing things people may want to but find difficult, including with practical tasks, help building social networks and help with building confidence and motivation; understands that they have also been running their virtual lunch club, which offers a safe space for people to meet others and take part in activities in a relaxed and understanding environment, and their specialised support services, which are available to anyone who may need them; notes that the team have also recently started their Saunter and Snap initiative, which encourages people to go for short walks in the outdoors, which, particularly during the current lockdown restrictions, has many positive physical and mental health benefits; understands that the project encourages people in the Stewartry area of Dumfries and Galloway to go for a walk in the town or countryside and take photos of their choice, and share them with the team, who will post them on social media; encourages everyone to have a look at the Support in Mind Scotland Stewartry webpage for some of the fantastic snaps that have been submitted, and thanks the team for their continued important work.
