Springburn Youth Forum Benches Project
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the members of the Springburn Youth Forum for successfully securing funds to deliver the Springburn Benches Project to transform a disused area of land outside Springburn Academy into a bench seating area that will also have community recycling facilities; welcomes the proactive approach taken by the forum, which identified that students who used the local shopping centre at lunchtime did not have a space to sit and eat their food, as well as identifying the need for additional recycling facilities locally; commends the determination of the young people involved, who have been pursuing this matter in partnership with local elected representatives; believes that the drive shown by members of Springburn Youth Forum is both improving the local environment and helping to meet the needs of young people, and looks forward to a successful delivery of the benches later this year.
