Auchmountain Glen Success at Scottish Walking Awards
The motion
That the Parliament commends a volunteer-led project for providing significant improvement to the Auchmountain Glen walkway, which has since been named the most improved walking space in Scotland at the Scottish Walking Awards; notes that improvements to the area include the erection of an archway and bridge repairs that open up the glen; appreciates that the archway was paid for through Inverclyde Council’s participatory budget scheme, and that the local authority also paid for a feasibility study and repairs to the bridge; believes that Auchmountain Glen is an example of what can be achieved when community groups and local authorities work together; hopes that these improvements will lead to more people in Inverclyde enjoying Auchmountain Glen, and wishes the volunteers all the best as they continue to make improvements and maintain the area for local walkers.
