Dalgety Bay Remediation Works

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the start of work to remove radioactive contamination from the foreshore at Dalgety Bay; notes that this issue first came to public attention in 1990; regrets the length of time it took the Ministry of Defence to take responsibility for the contamination caused by the residue of radium-coated instrument panels of military aircraft that were burned and buried at the end of the Second World War, and looks forward to the necessary work, now it has begun, being carried out quickly, efficiently and effectively so that the people of Dalgety Bay no longer need to experience the worry and the warning signs that the radioactive contamination has brought.
