Abbie Thompson Wins Top 10 Spot at the Sustainable Seafood Competition
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the promising Dumfries and Galloway College Student Chef, Abbie Thompson, on winning a place in the top 10 at the prestigious Sustainable Seafood Competition, at which she presented her haddock taco dish to the panel of judges, which was headed by the Master Chefs of Great Britain Chairman, George McIvor, who was joined by members of the Marine Conservation Society; understands that the competition is for students and chefs with a maximum of five years culinary experience to showcases the best of young British cooking talent as they compete to demonstrate what they can do with a specified ingredient; notes that the competitors were challenged to produce a dish using the UK’s favourite fish, haddock, and submitted a two-to-three minute video showcasing their talent and vision, and wishes Abbie every success for the future as she progresses her culinary career.
