Gourock Trio Establish Titan Spirits

The motion

That the Parliament commends Neill Forrest, Stuart Drake and Gordon McInnes on launching their new Inverclyde-inspired brand, Titan Spirits; notes that the COVID-19 lockdown provided Stuart and Gordon with the time and energy to focus on their drinks industry dream to create their own brand of rum, turning their kitchens into rum workshops as they tested different flavours and ingredients; appreciates that Neill became involved at a later date to help to market and sell the product, but is now an equal part of the venture; acknowledges that the trio have long-term plans to open a blending house and a distillery, with hopes to collaborate with other spirit manufacturers; recognises that the brand’s identity pays homage to Inverclyde’s industrial heritage, with one of the key ingredients being golden syrup, which harks back to the area’s connections to the sugar industry; congratulates Titan Spirits on selling half of their batch in pre-orders on the first day of its launch, and wishes the businessmen well for the future as they seek to expand their operations.
