Neilston Primary School Community Care and Share Trolley
The motion
That the Parliament recognises Neilston Primary School and Madras Family Centre's Community Care and Share Trolley Initiative; understands that the initiative was launched during the first lockdown period to provide school resources, family games and activities and food items when the school building was closed, via a trolley at the school gates; notes that the trolley has developed and now offers food items that might otherwise be wasted and opportunities to reuse and recycle other items, and is available to the whole community; believes that the local community has benefited greatly from the care and share trolley; commends the work of Neilston Primary's house and vice-captains from primary seven who take charge of making sure the trolley is well stocked and the school’s janitor who wheels it to the school gate every weekday morning; further notes the support for the initiative from Voluntary Action East Renfrewshire (VAER), the Corra Foundation, local supermarkets and businesses, and congratulates all pupils, parents and staff, particularly Mr Andrew Howie, Principal Teacher on this caring project in difficult times.
