The Earl and Countess of Strathearn's Visit to Turning Point Scotland North Lanarkshire
The motion
That the Parliament notes The Earl and Countess of Strathearn's recent visit to Coatbridge, which included a visit to Turning Point Scotland North Lanarkshire, which has been an important community asset in North Lanarkshire since opening its Coatbridge branch in 2012; understands that Prince William and Catherine met members of the community who use Turning Point's Turnaround service, which delivers targeted programmes to address the complex problem of offending and alcohol and drug misuse and can perpetuate a cycle of re-offending; appreciates that, as well as helping people with substance issues, Turning Point helps empower others living with physical and/or learning disabilities, autism and Asperger’s syndrome, acquired brain injury, early onset dementia, Huntington's disease and mental health conditions, and praises Turning Point Scotland North Lanarkshire for providing life changing opportunities for involvement, information and choice, collaboration, dignity and inclusion in the life of the community for people who seek its services.
