The motion
That the Parliament notes that funding applications are open from Scottish Borders Council’s five Area Partnerships, Berwickshire, Cheviot, Eildon, Teviot and Liddesdale and Tweeddale, supported by the Scottish Government, to provide support to voluntary and community groups that are active in their communities and assist communities or interest groups with the development of community-based projects; notes that groups that wish to take forward activity that will be of benefit to the their community can apply for grants up to £5,000 and that a total of £57,260 is available, with £19,086 available in each of three funding rounds, which are to be considered later in 2021; calls on all community groups that might be eligible to make an application for funding through the Council’s website, scotbordersa.gov.uk; believes that the impact these projects make needs to be measurable in terms of both number of community members benefiting and the scale of that benefit, and wishes all applicants every success.
