Glasgow's Smart Canal Wins at the Water Industry Awards

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Glasgow City Council, Scottish Water and Scottish Canals for winning the Sustainable Drainage & Flood Management Initiative of the Year at the 2021 Water Industry Awards for Glasgow's Smart Canal project; understands that the project is the first of its kind in Europe, utilising the Forth & Clyde Canal as a storm water drainage system to unlock huge areas of derelict land in the north of Glasgow for regeneration, and wishes everyone involved in the project the very best.
