Network Rail Signs the International Union of Railways Climate Responsibility Pledge

The motion

That the Parliament commends Network Rail for joining railway partners across the world in signing the International Union of Railways Climate Responsibility Pledge; understands that Network Rail has committed to reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions, achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); recognises the work that Network Rail has already undertaken to promote sustainability, including committing to the most ambitious science-based targets for reducing carbon and the launch of its first Environmental Sustainability Strategy in October 2020, and wishes all the team at Network Rail continued success in achieving sustainable outcomes.
