Volunteers' Week 2021

That the Parliament welcomes Volunteers' Week 2021, which runs from 1 to 7 June; acknowledges that it is an opportunity to recognise the fantastic contribution that volunteers make in the Central Scotland region and communities around Scotland; notes the 37th annual Volunteers' Week is taking place during what is being recognised on social media as the #MonthofCommunity; believes that the kindness, time and effort of volunteers from all walks of life to be invaluable to people, small grassroots organisations and large charities alike; thanks all volunteers who have contributed to the COVID-19 pandemic response during what has been an exceptionally challenging year; commends Voluntary Action South Lanarkshire (VASLAN) and its online hub, which allows people to positively engage with volunteering opportunities, and encourages anyone considering volunteering to do so in celebration of Volunteers' Week 2021.
