The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the news that the University of Edinburgh has part-funded a £5 million investment into Simon Community Scotland, an award-winning charity that helps people who are experiencing homelessness, or are at risk of homelessness; understands that Simon Community Scotland will use this investment to expand its services and buy properties that will become permanent homes for up to 30 tenants, helping these people transition from homelessness towards employment and a new life; acknowledges that the Social and Sustainable Capital has invested £5 million in the charity from its Social and Sustainable Housing fund (SASH), which has been partly funded by a £1 million commitment from the University, and looks forward to seeing the positive impact that the investment will have for the charity and local communities.
