Water Safety Scotland, #RespectTheWater
The motion
That the Parliament notes that, with COVID-19 restrictions easing, Water Safety Scotland has launched its #RespectTheWater campaign understands that in 2020, post-lockdown, people flocked to the coast and inland waters across the UK and there was an alarming increase in drowning incidents; notes that Water Safety Scotland is particularly concerned that the easing of lockdown conditions this year might see another surge in drowning incidents as people head to beaches, rivers and other waterways, and it applauds on its commitment to ensuring that people to get out and enjoy the waterways of Scotland safely.
