The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Ayrshire College on winning the award for the "Best teaching and learning initiative" at the 2021 Tes FE Awards, which celebrate outstanding aspects of the UK’s further education sector, recognising excellence and innovation; understands that Ayrshire College won the award for its Mental Health United campaign, which aims to raise awareness of mental health, particularly stressing the benefits of physical activity for wellbeing; notes that the college worked with the Kris Boyd Charity to engage with the local community around mental health, to allow them to access a range of free clubs, including an inclusive dance group, a care experience club, para football and a weight-loss programme for school-aged children, in conjunction with the NHS; applauds Ayrshire College for its efforts to promote the benefits of physical activity for health and wellbeing, and for the contribution that those efforts are making to the local community, and hopes that the programmes continue to benefit the area for years to come.
