Westhill and District Men’s Shed Receives Queen’s Award

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Westhill and District Men’s Shed (WDMS) for receiving the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest award given to local volunteer groups in the UK; acknowledges that WDMS was the first-ever Men’s Shed in Scotland, supporting mental health and wellbeing by providing a sense of community and a place for men to meet to socialise and work on a variety of projects that support local charities, schools and groups; understands that WDMS received the award with special recognition for its production of face visors for keyworkers at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, when there was a global shortage, and wishes its members all the best.
