Orkney's Karen Bevan Shortlisted for LACA School Chef of the Year

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Stromness Primary School chef, Karen Bevan, on being shortlisted for this year's LACA School Chef of the Year award; recognises Karen's ingenuity during lockdown, in developing new dishes for the school's menu; notes that the competition tasked participants with creating a Quorn-based main meal and a fruit-based dessert not exceeding £1.40 per person; understands that Karen used local Orkney ingredients, including Beremeal, in her shortlisted menu; thanks Karen and her colleagues at Stromness Primary School for providing nutritious, locally-sourced school meals, and wishes Karen and all the other finalists the very best of luck as the competition reaches a conclusion later this summer.
