2021 Scottish Youth Parliament Election

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the beginning of the 2021 Scottish Youth Parliament Election selection process; notes that anyone aged between 14 and 25 in November 2021 will be eligible to stand; celebrates what it sees as the opportunity that being an MYSP brings to help young people make changes for the better; believes that it is a fantastic way to experience political life; hopes that the next session will returns MSYPs who will be diverse and representative of all of Scotland; encourages all young people with a passion for making a difference to consider standing in the elections; hopes that teachers and youth workers will encourage young people whom they believe would excel in this role to put themselves forward, and sends its best wishes to all candidates in the selection process, which is due to take place over the following months.
