Inspirational Kirkintilloch Teacher is Finalist in UK-Wide TES Awards
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates St Ninian's High School teacher, Mr Jonny Stone, on being shortlisted as English Teacher of the Year at the TES School Awards; understands that Mr Stone sees himself as "the product of an amazing school", having also attended as a student, then probationer teacher, before taking up his current position; delights in Mr Stone's innovative teaching methods, with a focus on building relationships of trust to empower all pupils, regardless of their background or perceived barriers to success; applauds his exemplary initiatives to promote equality and inclusion; expresses thanks to Mr Stone and the staff team at St Ninian's High School for pursuing and enabling this innovative and personalised approach, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, and joins Mr Stone's pupils and colleagues in the East Dunbartonshire local authority area in wishing him well at the upcoming awards, and continued success in his vocation.
