Domestic Violence Statistics
The motion
That the Parliament notes the reported increase in domestic violence incidents in the past year; recognises that this might have been exacerbated by the effects of lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic but also understands that the rise is in part due to the recent awareness campaign and legislation; notes that there is reported 84% conviction rate; encourages victims to continue coming forward, and looks forwards to the day when domestic abuse is no longer an issue in society.
