Haddington's Churches and Residents Raise £5,000 for the Christian Aid Week Drive
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Haddington's churches and residents on raising £5,000 for the Christian Aid Week Drive; notes what it sees as the importance of the theme for 2021, Climate Justice, which is addressing the impact that climate change is having on both the natural environment and people in the poorest and most vulnerable countries; commends this year’s campaign featuring a community in Kenya that helped to build an earth dam to protect it from the adverse effects of unpredictable climate extremes; acknowledges the impact it believes that donations will have on hard-hit communities devastated by drought, and applauds the community in Haddington for their donations and kindness.
