Sue Ryder Dee View Court Reaches Fundraising Target
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the charity, Sue Ryder, for reaching its fundraising target of £3.9 million to increase the capacity of its Dee View Court care centre in Kincorth, Aberdeen; understands that the funding will be used to convert unused areas of the building into living spaces, nearly doubling the capacity from 24 to 44; recognises that Dee View Court is Scotland’s only purpose-built care centre for people with neurological conditions, or who have had brain injuries; further notes that a mural will be installed at Dee View Court in recognition of all donors since the appeal started in 2017, which included £500,000 from the Robertson Trust, £286,000 from the Morrison’s Foundation and support from Aberdeen-based businessman, Ian Suttie, and his wife, Dorothy; commends all donors, Sue Ryder management and staff, and wishes all involved and Dee View Court residents the very best of luck for the future.
