Eco-Schools Green Flag awards to Abbey Nursery and St Catherine’s Primary and Nursery School

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Abbey Nursery in Houston, and St Catherine’s Primary and Nursery School in Gallowhill for each being presented with an Eco-Schools Green Flag by the charity Keep Scotland Beautiful; understands that the award recognises nurseries and schools that have demonstrated a commitment to the Eco-School’s Scotland programme and engaged their whole school community in local environmental action, and appreciates the efforts of children attending Abbey Nursery in doing monthly litter picks, reducing water use and growing a variety of plants, and pupils at St Catherine’s for undertaking community litter picks, making reusable water bottles to reduce plastic waste and producing a video assembly to increase environmental awareness.
