The motion

That the Parliament congratulates FerryFish, which is based in Carsluith, Dumfries and Galloway, on its business resilience, expansion and community support efforts since the introduction of the COVID-19 restrictions in March 2020; notes that it sells fresh, locally-sourced, fish, game and other meat products to its customers and that, prior to the pandemic, had four vans delivering door-to-door, a weekly stance at the Castle Douglas Producers Market and two pop-up stalls, which were all very busy; understands that these services had to completely close for three weeks during the initial lockdown; commends the business consequently innovating by developing a website and app and now operating a completely contact-free, free home delivery service, which has gone from strength to strength with a number of new customers across Dumfries and Galloway and in South Ayrshire; recognises that it continues to serve its original loyal customers who might not be online; notes that, over the last year, it has expanded its van fleet, has recruited three new staff and has helped members of the community with shopping and other essential items; encourages all across Dumfries and Galloway and South Ayrshire to take a look at what it has to offer by visiting ferryfish.co.uk, and wishes FerryFish every success for the future.
