Dunbar Battery, Finalist in the European Award for Architectural Heritage Intervention
The motion
That the Parliament recognises that Dunbar Battery, which is based at the town’s harbour, was one of five finalists in the Exterior Spaces category of the European Award for Architectural Heritage Intervention; notes that it has been transformed from a historic island that was once home to an isolation hospital to an outdoor venue, which enjoys outstanding views of the area; recognises that it has previously been chosen as the AJ Architecture Awards’ Budget Project of the Year, a category that celebrates architecture built for £500,000 or less; celebrates this latest commendation, and applauds the Dunbar Harbour Trust, which is a community-led charity that looks after the historic harbour, for leading the initiative.
