Drygate Brewing Co, Seven Years of the Seven Peaks
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Drygate Brewing Co on seven years since its founding in Glasgow; recognises the impressive conversion of the 1965 building at 85 Drygate from a box and screen printing factory into a celebrated feature of Glasgow’s East End, while still preserving the original structure and heritage of the building, including the iconic "seven peaks"; understands the valuable role that the brewery plays in Glasgow’s creative scene, having accommodated an eclectic range of events over the years that have platformed local talent and creativity; notes the success of the brewery in producing beers that are revered both across Glasgow and beyond; commends the work of the Drygate "Can for a Can" initiative, which continued throughout lockdown, enabling customers in receipt of a delivery to make food bank donations via the designated delivery drivers who then couriered the essentials to local food banks; understands that Drygate also introduced a 50% discount on food orders for NHS workers throughout lockdown; thanks the brewery for its efforts in supporting local food banks, as well as key workers at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and wishes the brewery every success in its eighth year of trading.
