University of Dundee Ranked Top for Climate Action
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the University of Dundee on achieving the top ranking in the UK for climate action in the 2021 edition of the Times higher education university impact rankings, coming fifth out of more than 1,100 universities globally; acknowledges the hard work of staff and students that has led to this recognition; notes that these rankings recognise the roles universities have to educate and undertake research, and also to engage people and provide innovations that serve the greater good, and encourages all Scottish higher education institutions to prioritise work that seeks to contribute to the UN’s Climate Action Sustainable Development Goal in the year that will see COP26 come to Scotland, and as we “build forward better” out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
