The motion

That the Parliament welcomes news that the National Mining Museum Scotland in Newtongrange has been awarded £6,077 of funding from Museums Galleries Scotland as part of the Scottish Government’s Get Into Summer initiative; understands that this will be used to allow the museum to run a workshop programme during the summer comprising catered teddy bear’s picnics, bubble soccer, kite flying, pirate obstacle courses and baby/toddler music and movement workshops targeted at children up to 12 years old, as well as early-morning "quiet" sessions for children with autism; believes this represents an excellent example of the museum engaging with the local community and wishes the programme well.
