The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Dumfries and Galloway College as it prepares to celebrate its 60th anniversary of college education, firstly in Dumfries, and now at the Stranraer Campus; notes that the college, which was recently recognised as a leader in Scotland for educational passes and for student experience, is asking anyone with personal experience about their time at the college, and its predecessor, for their stories, as part of the celebrations; understands that these could be a story to tell, an experience as a student or staff member, passing through the college on their way to a career, or even a story about a long-lasting relationship that was formed at the college, such as with a friend or partner; understands that the college, originally founded in 1961 as the then Dumfries Technical College, has grown over the last 60 years to become one of Scotland’s leading colleges, helping thousands of students gain qualifications, skills and experiences to last a lifetime; wishes everyone involved with the college, past and present, the best of times in celebrating the 60th anniversary, and encourages anyone with a story to get in touch with the college.
