Michael Eardley's Success at the 2021 Footgolf Scottish Open

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Michael Eardley, who is from Greenock, on his success at the 2021 Footgolf Scottish Open; understands that the competition was held in Michael’s home town on 25 July 2021 at Greenock Golf Club following the success of last year’s event at the club, which saw nearly 100 players from across the UK taking part; notes that Michael took the overall title with a score of 15 under, and that he also triumphed in the professional singles category and took first place in the pairs competition with Stuart Campbell; acknowledges that footgolf is a relatively new sport, but that participation and interest in it is growing fast in Scotland; welcomes that this major competition was held for two years in a row in Inverclyde; believes that events such as this help generate more support for the game, and wishes Michael all the best for the rest of the season.
