Lodged by Marie McNair (Scottish National Party) Standard Motion 16 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament commends the work of the Big Disability Group, which was founded in 2017 by Clydebank resident, Kevin Crawford; understands that the Big Disability Group works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to ensure that people with disabilities know what support is available to them at any time, and that they also run focus groups to identify local issues that may need addressed, as well as open days to allow local groups to showcase what they offer and to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to access this information; further understands that, throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the organisation has experienced a significant increase in demand, with over 3000 enquiries received during lockdown, highlighting the importance of such services to people with disabilities and their families; applauds all that are involved with the Big Disability Group, which widened its services following demand from other areas outside of Clydebank, and wishes them all the best for the future.
