Opening of The Old Bakery Gallery in Newton Stewart

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates The Old Bakery Gallery in Newton Stewart on opening its doors to the public for the first time on 7 August 2021; notes that the gallery, which aims to provide visitors with a warm, friendly and inviting atmosphere, has a goal of ensuring that everyone who comes through the door is able to connect with a piece of art in some way; understands that there are currently six artists in the gallery, painters, Amanda Murray, Helen Ryman, Hope London and Stewart Lammie, illustrator, Caroline Smith and mixed-media artist, Sybil Moses, and that their work is exhibited and can be purchased via the shop; further understands that the current exhibition, running until September 2021, is entitled “Summer” and that, on 14 August 2021, people will be welcomed to the gallery and will have a chance to meet the artists; wishes all artists all the very best at The Old Bakery Gallery, and encourages all to visit and enjoy.
