An Taigh Cèilidh
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the announcement of a fundraiser for An Taigh Cèilidh, a Gaelic language cultural hub and social enterprise based in Stornoway; understands that An Taigh Cèilidh intends to provide an immersive and welcoming environment for Gaelic learners and speakers, a space for Gaelic-speaking social clubs, and economic support for Gaelic arts and traditional, island industries; recognises the potential of Gaelic language cultural hubs to revitalise Gaelic-speaking communities in the heartland of the language, and across the country; commends other ongoing campaigns for Gaelic language cultural hubs in Inverness, Glasgow and Edinburgh, and encourages the Scottish Government and local authorities to engage with these campaigns and the benefits they may bring to Gaelic speakers around the country.
