Bo'ness Foreshore Scottish Greenways Programme
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes proposals for a new community seating area at Bo’ness Foreshore as part of Sustrans’ Scottish Greenways Programme; understands that Sustrans partnered with Bo’ness Academy to encourage students to come up with designs for the new seating; congratulates Niamh Alldred and David Hogg on submitting their successful design proposals, which include references to Bo’ness and the surrounding area’s rich heritage and will be put forward for construction as part of the project; further congratulates Naomi Meikle, whose designs received an honourable mention; considers open spaces and path networks important in maintaining mental and physical health; notes that the Scottish Greenways Programme intends to increase the number of people choosing to walk, cycle and wheel using a wheelchair, scooter, skateboard, or skates by making traffic-free paths more welcoming, attractive and accessible spaces, and looks forward to the winning designs of Niamh and David being installed on Bo’ness Foreshore in the coming months.
